Misako hails from the Japanese prefecture of Nagano, famous for hosting the winter Olympics, among other things. Married to an Englishman, she loves most things English especially of course English gardens.

A keen photographer, she has promised to give us a page of her photographs, but until then she gives her answer to a pertinent question we are sometimes asked, which is:

“ to our dearest clients....

A garden is not just a product you can buy, it is a living part of your land.

Many suppliers can plant all your favourite plants and it might look fantastic just after instalment.
But you will see some plants die after a while because the soil was not suitable for these or after three years you might have to have some of the shrubs removed or replanted elsewhere because these were planted too close to each other.
It is like having your house built on poor foundation by someone who is inexperienced in carpentry.

It could look good at the beginning but it will fall apart.

To make a garden working, there are skills to be involved.
Some plants require certain soil condition and environment to thrive.
Some trees grow higher than your house, some are just right in your garden.
Making a garden requires vast knowledge of horticulture and that is what we are proposing to you.

Our quote may sometimes look rather expensive, but we believe that it is because we know what to do to make a garden properly so that you do not have to spend the same amount of money in the future having your garden re-done.
We are more than happy to answer your questions if you wonder what is making up the cost, how and why these things are necessary or preferred.

Thank you very much for considering us for your garden.

We are looking forward to hearing from you. "
