Being asked to make a new garden is a privilege. To make a piece of land beautiful and bring the dreams of a client into reality is the best thing in the world to do. Whether a garden is traditional or modern, formal or informal is a matter of taste and appropriateness. What matters is that the finished garden works. Resolving the conflicts of aesthetics, usage, site specifics, conservation and budget is all part of the process, as is the efficient and considerate installation of the agreed final plan. Whatever the style, the creation of a garden must benefit not only humans but also the planet and its interrelated bio systems. I apply this principle to all the stages of the design and installation process and remain actively engaged with the project from start to finish.
